Great plus size clothes for trendy plus-sized divas: Why don’t you try this one for size!

F.A.Q: On Items and Stuff

February6

Why do you have more “free size” items than actual plus size clothes?

That is the main reason why we plus size babes have this problem in the first place, we lack locally made, fabulous clothes catered for plus size women! Malaysia’s apparel market is labeled “for the Asian frame” which the whole world regards as “small and petite”. They labeled European market to be “big and tall” while USA enjoys the best — fashion for all! We currently can find only 2 local suppliers that has clothes in plus sizes and that’s not enough!

In the sake of variety, we had to scout the local wholesalers for clothes that will fit at least an XL female, and that is no easy work! We have no statistical data to prove the average Malaysian women are of the XL size, but that is the next best thing we can offer, for now. :-)

You said there’ll be more clothing up to 5X. Where are they?

Honestly, the designs our US suppliers offer for sizes up to 5X are disappointing! We’re constantly looking out for items trendy/cute enough for you PF! babes. Hopefully one day our luck will change. It will.

Why are your items so limited? They sold-out way too fast!

That’s because as small-time businesswomen, we couldn’t afford the risk and money to stock too much on a particular design. We could not be sure which design will sell more than the other, so we played it safe, and bought only a few pieces of each, depending on availability.

Your USA Collection is not varied and a little pricey. Why?

How we hate the customs tax! Again, as small-time businesswomen, we have limited financial means, thus we can only order small quantities as to avoid being taxed! We are always on the look out for trendy pieces from our US suppliers but so far, they didn’t offer us much choice in terms of pricing. Some of our imported items are a tad more expensive than their counterparts because the customs duty were added on their price tags to cover the cost. We also have to consider the USD exchange rates when buying from America.

Why don’t you sell shoes and bags?

We pride ourselves for being in a niche market and there are many other online shops that offer shoes, bags and various fashion accessories. We would love to someday, but at the moment, we’ll just concentrate on what mattered most to us, offering fabulous plus size fashion for you.

Can I try your clothes before I buy it? Where is your store located?

Yes, you can try on the clothes but you would have to reserve the items first and try them when we meet up for COD. To enjoy this privilege, please be a “serious buyer”, meaning, you do intent on buying at least some of the items you reserved. You can also try on the clothes whenever we have an outdoor sale at bazaars and such.

We do not have a physical store as we’re a 100% online clothing store! It is our ultimate dream to have an actual boutique that carries plus size clothing under the brand of Plusfabulous! So please help us achieve this dream with your love and support.

I found some items you’re selling at a physical store. They are cheaper than yours!

Our favorite question. Most online blogs are like us, small-time & young entrepreneurs, who can’t buy in bulk like big corporations and businesses. Take an example; a supplier is selling a design priced at RM25 per piece (cost price). We could only buy 12 pieces so we have to pay RM25 x 12 =RM300. Meanwhile, Tesco comes over and wanted 100 pieces of the same design making the supplier very happy and gave them a better price of RM20 per piece. We had to charge the item at least with a 70% profit so the design’s price tag became RM42.50. Tesco on the other hand could charge 100% profit but the item will only be RM40 on retail!

Yes, we do not have to pay for shop rent or staff salaries, but we, small-time online shops, are at a very big disadvantage when it comes to budget and connections to the right suppliers. PF! has limited sources who sells plus size clothing, and we always end up getting the shorter end of the stick — higher cost price. Also remember, our clothes are generally bigger than clothes made for thin, skinny-minis, hence our clothes cost a tad higher.
